Thammasat Welcomes Minister of Higher Education to Discuss Education Strategies

Thammasat University and Minister of Higher Education Discuss 12 University Advancement Strategies

     Professor Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, the Rector of Thammasat University, along with the executive team and deans, welcomed and held a discussion with Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), at Thammasat University, Tha Phra Chan. The meeting focused on the key policies of the Ministry aimed at collaboratively advancing the university in alignment with the current global changes. The discussion emphasized 12 strategies to enhance the capabilities of the Thai higher education system, which include: 1) Reforming higher education through AI technology, 2) Increasing employment opportunities for new graduates, 3) Developing human resources according to industry needs, 4) Enhancing the efficiency of academic position evaluations, 5) Supporting international demonstration schools, 6) Fund for Higher Education Development, 7) Promote Thailand as an Education Hub, 8) Advocate the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to become an Economic Ministry, 9) Utilize the Reinventing Universities & Research Institutes to address significant national issues, 10) Leverage Science Parks to drive local economic development, 11) Support Frontier Technology, and 12) Continuously reform the Reinventing Universities & Research Institutes.

     The meeting has become a significant step in the collaboration between Thammasat University and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) to advance Thai higher education and enable it to compete at the international level, as a “leading exemplary university for the society of the future.”
